Our 7th Annual Golf Day was held again this year at Overstone Park, Northampton on Friday 12th July, apart from a slight shower the weather was very kind to us. Thank you to all who took part and donated in making the day a great success producing a handsome profit of £3230

Madi organises a Football Tournament in Thornton to raise awareness of Chronic Pain.The event has already raised in excess of £1000 and Her fundraising page is still open until 1st September
Rach's Army Conquered ' The Tuff Mudder '
Amy says:
It was pretty tough at times with people over coming fears of heights, water and small places but team work got us through. Overall it was actually very enjoyable and we had a lot of laughs and feel so proud of ourselves. We’re all very bruised, battered and sore today though.
We have raised around £2400.00 to be split between Away With Pain, Mind Suffolk and Endometriosis UK plus an additional £1000.00 for Mind Norwich!

Richard runs the Marlow Half Marathon and raises the fantastic sum of £211.25
Richard (on right) dressed in the unmistakable guise of Mr Incredable completes the Marlow Half marathon on 4th November. It is supposed to be the hillest half marathon course in the UK. Richard thinks that is unlikely! Equally it wasn't flat either. After just two miles he regretted wearing such a warm snug.

In Kettering on Saturday 27th October, despite a rainy evening, spirits were not dampened and a great night was had by all.

The 'North Coast 500' Scottish Cycling Challenge, A Family Affair Raising £100
In memory of Julia, the Co Founder of our Charity, Her cousins Wil and Joe decided to undertake the 'North Coast 500' Scottish cycling challenge.
The route starts at Inverness heading along the West coast to Applecross, then northwards via Torridon and Ullapoll. Continuing northwards through Caithness and John O' Groats. Turning South through Dingwall back to Inverness. The scheduled time for the 500 miles is between five and seven days climbing over 10000 metres. Our boys completed this grueling challenge in five days.
Wil completed the 300 th fastest time ever recorded over Bealach Na Ba ( image attached ) from 7000 all times recorded.
Bealach is the Uks biggest road climb with an ascent of 625 m in just 10Km

Katie Did It! And raised the magnificent sum of £470
Despite living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Katie completed the 'Great North Swim' which is a mile in open water on June 9th.
Katie commented:
'The swim was a huge challenge and overcoming it was certainly an incredible feat. I hope the money raised from the swim will go some way to helping others, and I also hope it will be a message that chronic pain does not defeat us, so keep smiling and keep fighting!'

Anna completes the Edinburgh 10k Run in just 1 hr 13 minutes
A huge 'Thank You' to Anna who is 19 years of age, dispite Her own challenges associated with Chronic Pain completed the run quicker than Her estimated time and raised a very healthy sum of £235 for our Charity which will help us in our challenge of raising further awareness of Chronic Pain. Well done ! a great personal achievement.
A Fabulous Presentation From Kettering & District Flower Club
Kettering and District Flower Club presented a cheque for £400 to local charity "a way with pain" at their recent meeting. Immediate past Chairman of the Club, Barbara Maclean, was delighted to support this local charity during her year of office. "a way with pain" supports the relief of sickness and promotion of good health by the provision of advice and support to those suffering chronic pain.Further information of the Charity can be found on their website: www.awaywithpain.co.uk The cheque was presented on behalf of the Club by Barbara (pictured left) and accepted on behalf of the Charity by Valerie Kelly (pictured right), wife of the Co-founder, David Kelly
Another Curry Feast
A fantastic evening was enjoyed by 72 diners on Monday 14th November 2016 at the Koh-I-Noor Indian Restaurant in Finedon. Followed by an entertaing raffle and auction of a food hamper. A big thank you to Zakir and His Staff for providing the excellent food and venue. To all who came and supported the event, donated raffle prizes and helped with the arrangements, a thousand Thank Yous !!

Freya completes the 10k Crowle Run & Raises £80
Freya is just fifteen years of age and despite experiencing CRPS last year and being unable to walk for six months, participating in the Silver D of E for Her volunteering Freya decided to do a running event for a charity to help people going through a pain journey that She Herself had experienced.
Despite May 8th being the hottest day of the year so far reaching temperatures of 26 * Freya completed that race and managed to raise a superb £80 ! Well done and thank you for choosing our charity.
Our First Charity Cycle Ride
A group of eight intrepid riders to include: Dan, Leigh, Gareth, Jamie, Mikey, Nick, Rob and Philip set off from the Stags Head at Great Doddington on Saturday 30th April; the scheduled route took them along 40 miles of Rural Northants and Bucks roads. Whilst not a race Leigh and Gareth were first back in the bar at the Stag despite Leigh getting a puncture and Gareth a bee sting. The event raised the magnificent sum of £1002.92 !!
A big thank yo to all who took part,donated and supported the event and to Gerry who started the ride, organised the raffle and provided us all with the hospitality of the Stags Head.

We are very grateful to Debbie who recently held a space for mindfulness meditating.This took place every Wednesday evening for an hour once a week for a month.All those that came along made a donation to a way with pain raising a total of £75.00.Debbie intends to do this again in the summer in memory of Julia's legacy and commitment to Her journey in this life time of helping others to understand how disabling living with pain can truly be.
Another Great Event
A big thank you to the 91 Diners who enjoyed a sumptuous feast at the Koh-I-Noor Indian Restaurant in Finedon, Northamptonshire on Tuesday 17th March, and to Zak the owner of the Restaurant and His Team who made the event possible. A special mention must also be made to Ukulele Ali who entertained us with comedy and a sing a long. Not least a special note of appreciation to all those who donated prizes for the raffle.
We made a whopping total of £1655 which will greatly assist us to continue to raise awareness of Chronic Pain and support those affected.
Mr Nick Birch, Mr Phil Ridgway, Mr Gianluca Lasci & Mr Rod Lane for taking part in the 2014 Motorcyle Challenge (2nd-13th September). Travelling across 5 Countries & riding over 44 highest passes, all higher than 2000m !
