Away with Pain donate £1020 to the Chronic Pain Team at Milton Keynes University Hospital

Press Release July 17 2018

Milton Keynes Hospital Charity partners with A Way with Pain to support chronic pain patients

Patients with chronic pain are now benefitting from an enhanced pain management service following a donation from charity A Way with Pain.

Working with Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, A Way with Pain donated £1,020 to support the purchase of 20 new TENS machines – a form of pain relief – and a new skeleton to help staff explain conditions to patients.

These items are now being used to enhance the work of the chronic pain team at Milton Keynes University Hospital, who help people in and around Milton Keynes manage chronic pain.

David Kelly, co-founder of A Way with Pain said: “Chronic pain affects around one in seven people in the UK, often with devastating effects on the individual concerned, their family, and friends.

“As an organisation dedicated to raising awareness of chronic pain and offering support to those affected, we were delighted to present the donation to the hospital charity last year and are so pleased to have seen the new items being used.”

Vanessa Holmes, head of fundraising at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity said: “A sincere thank you to A Way with Pain who have supported the charity by enhancing the pain management team at the hospital. We’re so grateful for their support!”
